The sound and the show were in excess of our expectations by a long way and we were most impressed.

I can honestly say I will not forget yours either. I spoke at length to Ricky at the bar and told him how good you all were and he suggested I comment on your website. A review for Plinston Live by Alan Howard  see full review and pictures

Duporth Holiday Village,  St Austell :  "Just thought I would pass on my regards for putting on a great show on Saturday. As the organiser I was under a bit of pressure to deliver, but as soon as I heard you in the sound check I new everything would be fine. It was nice to meet a band who seemed to enjoy their work and go about it with a sense of fun. You have given me a problem for next year as people have already said to me, how do we top that ! Who knows we may have to invite you back. Feel free to use me as a reference."  Steve Halstead

THE CUMBRIA BALLROOM in Workington on September 26 was the place to be for Macmillan Cancer Relief's Cumbria Appeal event. West Cumbrians can be notoriously hard to please and sometimes struggle to make the dance-floor, but even the old fogies were up rocking! The band was absolutely fantastic and people I've spoken to since have been raving particularly about the drummer and 'Freddie Mercury' - what a voice! We are starved up here of good live acts and now we have had the experience of one we all want more! To echo the thoughts of everyone there that night please, please, come back soon. A brilliant night was had by all!" Brenda Wallace, 'Reckless Few MCC'  Thanks for having us Brenda, we enjoyed it too!

Inçirlik Airbase, Turkey; 17th to 20th January; "Yet again Kings of Queen have excelled themselves. This. their third tour for us, was another huge success.  They consistently continue to provide top quality entertainment time and time again.  Everyone's a winner!" Angie Moore

The Premier Suite, Reebok Stadium, Bolton Dec 14th: We watched more people eat more Christmas dinners in another large banqueting hall and wondered if they'd have the energy to get up on the dance floor and sing, dance, cheer and clap along to Queen songs. They did, of course, it's impossible not to.  "Superb! Great singer, band, backing vocals, everything. Great show!" said promoter Kev Peet. Thanks for having us Kev, see you next time!

Butlin's, Minehead:  After playing to an enthusiastic and packed 'Centre Stage' comments from the resident stage crew included "That really rocked!" and "a great live band - it really kicked!" -  Since these guys hear and work with different bands night after night, that, from them, is a  real compliment. Thanks guys.

The Falkland Islands, Nov 22nd to 29th:  Another trip, this time halfway round the world!  Our thanks to everyone at the Mount Pleasant Airfield base for looking after us so well, showing us around and giving us an insight into the valuable work our troops are doing out there.  "All four shows were an absolute success with rapturous applause and several curtain calls." emailed Flt Lt Whiteman after we got home. Thanks again Emily!

Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Bridport : "Kings of Queen delivered on all fronts: great, powerful rock music; a good stage show; and excellent vocals from David Kinghorn.  Booking tribute acts can be a worry, especially when the original group were as exceptional and flamboyant as Queen, but you can book The Kings of Queen with confidence and be guaranteed satisfied punters."  Scott Condliffe.. Many thanks Scott, we enjoyed it, you've a great venue there, see you soon!

Bosnia, 3rd to 7th September: "Whilst entertaining British troops in Bosnia, Kings of Queen absolutely blew the roof off every gig.  Military audiences are some of the toughest critics you'll ever meet - to see 500 soldiers standing on their chairs, singing, dancing and having the time of their lives every night for a week was all the proof I needed on what a great booking we'd made.  They ARE Queen!!"  Angie Moore, Entertainment Manager.

Harlow Town Park Jubilee Celebrations: "The gig at the Band Stand, Harlow Town Park was sensational. The Kings of Queen were the talking point of Harlow for many days after the performance. Also, the estimated attendance was over 8000. On behalf of the people of Harlow, the G.P.C.A. and myself, I would like to personally pay tribute to what in my humble opinion was the best live act in Harlow for the last twenty years. Well done and long may the Kings of Queen Reign.  Wishing you all well,  Nick Jeffery. Pop Concert Nick". - What praise! thanks a million Nick.

The Ash, Burton End, Stansted. Tucked away in the countryside behind Stansted airport is a thatched-roofed pub with an excellent restaurant, full of old English character and friendly people, seemingly the least likely place to find a thriving music venue. In the marquee round the back however, IT ROCKS!  if you're from that neck of the woods, check it out.

"Kings of Queen are the finest tribute band we've ever seen," said (event manager) David Burbank-Green after the show. "Everyone said what a great show it was."  Thanks David, we  enjoyed it too, hope to see you again!

The Fisherman's Retreat, Ramsbottom. In a beautiful setting, with its fly fishing ponds, in the hills above Shuttleworth near Ramsbottom, Lancashire, The Fisherman's Retreat, once again held its annual beer festival. If any real ale lovers don't know about this one, get it in your diary for next year! "Kings of Queen were great as usual," said the owner Hervey Magnall. Thanks a lot Hervey, see you soon.

Kineton Summer Festival: The weather threatened to turn but luckily held out for the 3,500 audience that turned out at  Park Farm near Compton Verney, Kineton, Warwickshire. Following a Dixieland jazz band and an Abba tribute, Kings of Queen played a fantastic 90 minute set (and would have gone on had there been time) before the, now traditional, firework display ending to the evening. I spoke to one of the organisers afterwards: "What can I say?"  she said, "Your singer really had the crowd in the palm of his hand just like Freddie did.  It takes a lot to impress me when it comes to other groups doing Queen songs but you lot impress me big time."

Shalford Park : Queen buff and ex Queen tribute band drummer Steve Hinchcliffe was at the gig and emailed the following day:- " I've seen tons of professional acts and seen queen videos till they appear on my eyelids and you guys put lumps in my throat and sent shivers down my spine with some of that stuff....I was gobsmacked by the show,  I expected it to be good but it exceeded my expectations 10-fold."

Wroughton Carnival : Supporting: Wiltshire Air Ambulance & Children's Ward, Princess Margaret Hospital.

Once again this yearly event was a great success and raised £6,225 for charity thanks to Dave and Sue Carter, the rest of the committee and the people of Wroughton. Several thousand people, a parade, all the usual stalls and refreshments, music, and fireworks to round off the evening. "Kings of Queen were fabulous, a great show, a fantastic band!" said Sue. Thanks for that Sue and thanks for all your hospitality, we enjoyed the evening tremendously.

Web of Life Festival, Wantisden Valley, Woodbridge, Suffolk,: Some terrific acts supplied the entertainment along with KoQ;  a wonderful a cappella group called Magnet, the excellent singer songwriter Shirlie Roden and a great soul & blues outfit known as 4 Bills and a Ben, whose drummer, Jeff Rich, spent many years with Status Quo. He'd toured with Quo on a Queen tour so we like to think he knows what he's talking about when he says, "I've seen several other Queen tributes but Kings of Queen are the best"! Thanks Jeff, all the best.

Murray's Music Bar, Scarborough,: Several people who attended the private party in the afternoon and hadn't seen Kings of Queen before, came back to Murray's Bar in the evening to see the show all over again! The band were pretty whacked by the end, having played 2 shows (4 hours in all) but it was worth it to see the crowd enjoying themselves. - Thanks Paul, it's always a great night at Murray's Bar!

Gosport Town Centre, Jubilee Celebrations: Two to three thousand people watched this free out-door event by the harbour. Kings of Queen were the final act of the evening and it seemed that everyone stayed watching the show until the very last note despite last orders at the nearby pubs!

Rugby Town Centre, Jubilee Celebrations,:  'Excellent, the crowd really enjoyed the show'.' - Helen Wild from Centre Stage Promotions. "The best Queen band I've heard" said Glen from Wavelength PA Systems. Thanks for having us Helen and what a great sound, it's good to work with a top professional sound company at these multi-act events.

Plinston Hall, Letchworth : "Queen Reborn! - A brilliant night and an audience that didn't want to go home!" - Denis Hill, general manager. Thanks Denis, we certainly enjoyed the evening, it's a great  venue to see bands and hear live music, (Status Quote, who performed earlier in the evening, were excellent too!)

The White Lion, Bristol St, Birmingham. : Recently re-opened, the White Lion is becoming the new music venue for Birmingham, with bands every week and open until 1am on Saturday nights. We enjoyed the gig and the audience's response was great so I asked new owner, Roger, what he thought of Kings of Queen's set. "The Dog's B******s! Top Banana!" was his answer. (um... you can't get higher praise than that ...!) Thanks Roger, hope to see you soon.

The Diamond, Sutton-in-Ashfield: "We had a brilliant night here last Saturday, the crowd loved it. I've seen two other Queen tributes but Kings of Queen are by far the best!" said owner Stuart Varley. Thanks Stuart and thanks for your hospitality!

Birmingham Botanical Gardens:  "Thanks for an excellent show" said organiser Richard James, "It really was a successful evening, everyone enjoyed themselves."

Durham University: "A great performance, certainly the highlight of the evening." - Naomi Croucher (Entertainments Secretary)

The Barbican Centre, York:   Charity Concert for the Special Care Baby Unit at York District Hospital - (£9000 was raised!) Thank you all for the best night out for ages!! The Concert for SCBU at the York Barbican on 24th November was sensational. We had been to other tribute bands several times, and weren't sure how you would compare - what a treat we had. My life's ambition to see Queen live was thwarted ten years ago when Freddie died, and I really feel as if this was as close as I could ask for to the "real thing". I know the SCBU will be thrilled by your efforts, and I hope it won't be long before we're rockin' in the aisles with you again. Thank you all. Jacky

Village Hall, Byfleet:   "A great show, I'd recommend Kings of Queen to anyone." said Graham Morgan after the show, who then later emailed:
"Dave and the Lads, Just a line to express our sincere thanks for a great night at Byfleet. The chairman of the Trustees of the Hall who has been to all of our six shows said, "that was the best show yet, and we had some really good one's already!". I must say I agreed but being a Queen man might be slightly biased. Cheers, Graham Morgan & Martin Fisher of Bandstand" Thanks a lot Graham-hope to see you soon.

Butlin's Skegness,         "The Centre Stage venue was packed to capacity (2,500) and the audience loved it. Dave and the band really got them going and then held them there for the whole show." - Danni, stage manager.

The Engine Shed, Wetherby Arts Festival,  "It is no wonder the band has been dubbed as one of the most 'accurate and entertaining' tribute bands on today's music scene, if local lad Dave 'Mercury' Kinghorn's breathless performance at The Engine Shed on Sunday night is anything to go by. He was every bit the showman for which Mercury is so famous.  We closed our eyes and heard Mercury, his impersonator not afraid to hit those evocative high notes. And then we opened our eyes and saw him. It was all there - the slick jet black hair and trademark moustache and the tight black vest, strutting across the stage microphone poised.  The crowd, which spanned across a range of generations, absolutely loved the interaction from the band and couldn't resist clapping, singing and waving their hands when the frontman required it. And they couldn't take their eyes off the Mercury look-a-like as he strode around the room.  They were not disappointed as they were treated to one Queen favourite after another - One Vision, It's a Kind of Magic, Under Pressure, they were all there. As a result the audience didn't mind holding out until the tumultuous encore for a rousing Bohemian Rhapsody."  Nova Stewart, Wetherby News, Nov 9th

The County Hotel, Copdock, Ipswich:    "I've seen quite a few Queen tribute bands and you are definitely the best." said John Greenway, a member of the entertainments team. "...not only was the band an excellent, tight rock band (you have a good drummer don't you?) but the slower songs were very effective too. I actually saw somebody in tears during 'Who Wants To Live Forever'. (and no, it wasn't because we 'ruined' it!)

"Great Wryley F.C.:  "A great band, excellent." said Manager Jim Humphreys "People were coming up to me all evening saying how much they were enjoying the show." Thanks Jim, we enjoyed the evening too!

The Gladstone Theatre, Port Sunlight.     "We'd heard excellent reports of Kings of Queen's performance at the Liverpool Olympia last year and they lived up to all expectations here tonight. Kings of Queen put on a terrific show" - Alan Williams, theatre manager.

The Rocklands Social Club, Redditch : "Thanks for entertaining us all evening", said Tom, the concert secretary, "You don't get many bands that will play for 2 and half hours!" You're the best band we've ever had", added Tom, "we'll certainly be having you back!"

Morpeth Sports Centre : What a great crowd here in Morpeth! Despite the rain it was a great turn out. Sadly, organiser Mike Dungait had to transfer the event to the club house (which he did quickly and efficiently) and although it was virtually impossible to squeeze everybody in we all had a good time nevertheless. "Excellent, great band, highly recommended", said Mike. Thanks Mike, see you soon.

Murray's Music Bar, Scarborough : "AWESOME!", Paul Murray.

What they said at the  Victory Club, Stocksbridge, S.Yorks. :"After a 2 hour show, after the encore, the audience still demanded the band back on stage, nobody left the room, they just kept on clapping and stamping and shouting for more." The best band we've had here and the best Queen tribute, (out of the three) I've seen." Thanks Stocksbridge, we enjoyed it too, hope to see you again soon!
